Writing Emails in English Course Introduction

The objective of this course is to provide you with the necessary information to write better emails which, in turn, will establish you as a competent communicator in the business world.


In order to achieve this you will learn why email is important, study email etiquette, when and how to apply it and learn about the do’s and don’ts of writing emails. In this course you will also investigate the form of an email. Important considerations in terms of form are: the importance of the subject line, salutations and closings, paragraph spacing, the signature and attachments. You will also learn more about writing styles, tone and punctuation. You will find the section on common punctuation and grammar errors very helpful to improve your general writing skills too. Furthermore you will also discover how culture affects the appropriateness of a business email. Lastly you will discover that proofreading is not negotiable and that you should always check the quality of your emails before you send them.
